Survivor, Mother, Gardener, Author, and Artist. Her writing explores themes of overcoming trauma, personal growth despite hardship, and acceptance of others.
Aurora De Caelo
Aurora De Caelo’s writing journey began early to escape the anguish of her abusive childhood. Her favorite tropes include found family, overcoming personal darkness, and exploring vibrant worlds. She lives on a hobby farm with family in central Texas and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Creative Writing and English from Southern New Hampshire University. Scars imbue her work. Her pen name, Aurora De Caelo, is Latin for “Dawn from Heaven” to represent the new hope born in literary exploration as she etches her new history over her scars.
Aurora’s allegorical short story, “Scars of Our Demons”, explores the complicated inner battle for peace when confronting the scars abuse leaves on one’s soul to end transgenerational trauma cycles. It is one of the four Original Prose: Shifting Shape stories selected for oral presentation at the International English Honors Convention, Action 2022, and is being queried for debut publication.
